Product description
A thermostat-controlled FM200 fire extinguisher is a pre-installed automatic fire suppression system that operates based on temperature-sensitive activation. It contains FM200 (HFC-227ea) as its fire suppressant, which is an environmentally clean, colorless, odorless, and low-toxic gas.
Specifically, the thermostat FM200 fire extinguisher is equipped with a thermal-sensitive element along its activation piping, typically a thermosensitive glass bulb. Under normal circumstances, this glass bulb remains sealed to retain the fire suppressant within the container. When a fire raises the temperature in the protected area to a predetermined value, the heat causes the glass bulb to expand and rupture, thereby opening the release valve.
Upon valve opening, the FM200 (HFC-227ea) fire suppressant is rapidly discharged and dispersed into the fire scene. The primary method by which FM200 extinguishes fires is through chemical inhibition, disrupting the chain reaction of combustion. Additionally, it contributes to reducing the fire's temperature due to its effective cooling properties.
Because FM200 does not conduct electricity and has minimal impact on electronic equipment, thermostat-controlled FM200 fire extinguishers are particularly suitable for fire protection in critical locations such as computer rooms, telecommunication facilities, data centers, archives, and similar environments where sensitive electronic devices are present.
